It really is. Because these types of nerds are pretty much the only people who bought the game to begin with. So, um, yeah.

Pretty sure I don't even really care about this version. I haven't even finished my PS2 copy, and I'm not going to buy it again. My comments were more to counterbalance your own overreaction due to a simple missing overlay that was unattractive to begin with.
    Congratulations?

No, sorry, a sloppily-implemented paper texture overlay that just sits there, covering the whole game top to bottom, most certainly was not a "huge part of the fucking visual style." The fact that you think this is just strange. After all, that overlay could be slapped into any game.
    Cool.

    It was implied.
No it wasn't. Remember that talking out your ass thing you spoke of earlier?
I took all your French Toast.

the mono thing is a bug, where the game will only send out sound in mono, not stereo or pro logic. They JUST started the disc replacement program, which involves you being without your game disc for 3-6 weeks.

Also, i liked the paper effect in okami. Too bad the port team couldnt get it done right, ill stick with my ps2 version.

  3. So the Wii port gets downgraded graphics but apparently the drawing mechanic is speedier and hassle-free.

    Still pissed. *-neo

  4. Graphics owngraded? WTF. I hope this is not true.

  5. I was thinking with Treasure's sequel spree lately that a new Stretch Panic would work on Wii. The game had some good ideas, the controls were just busted. The pointer would be used ala Zack and Wiki/Mario Galaxy to guide your scarf leaving the rest of set-up for character control. *-neo

It would be consistent with the quality of typical third party offerings.

Think of the innovative use of the motion sensor! The Wii could finally make Treasure's vision a reality. GOTY material.

  8. A few news bits:

-Wiiware and Wii Fit will be out in May

-Apparently the guys behind Sam and Max have a series set to debut on Wiiware.

-A new game "Lostwinds" was shown at GDC and looks larger than a SNES cart memory-wise, almost have hope for this service:

Nintendo To Begin Charging Money For Some Online Gaming

Nintendo's Wi-Fi Connection service has always been entirely free of charge, but the company will soon introduce a pay-to-play service for some games, it announced at Game Developers Conference.

"Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Pay And Play" will let users subscribe on a game-by-game basis to certain titles. Nintendo project leader Takashi Aoyama announced the service at GDC, but did not say what upcoming games would require payment for the service, or how much they would cost.

To avoid customer confusion, Pay-And-Play games will have a red icon on the game's box that reads Pay And Play, in place of the traditional blue Wi-Fi Connection icon, which will only be used for games that are free to play.

This is a pretty big change for Nintendo, who has always been adamant about wanting online gameplay to be free. While this might attract more developers to the service with a new revenue stream, it also might confuse consumers -- and be a hassle if the payment system isn't easy. You'll use Wii Points to pay for the online gaming, so it should be interesting to see if this extends to the DS Lite or if it's just restricted to Wii.
Nintendo loves you so very much.

  10. Awesome, as if they weren't raking in enough money. *-neo
