Thread: Most time you've spent with a game

  1. Most time you've spent with a game

Cap and I were talking on Vent tonight during QW about this. I'm curious what games everyone has played the most. Leave the mile long lists out, and just name 3 or 4 that occupied your time.

    Mine:
    • Subspace/Continuum (PC) - Off and on for 10 years with somewhere around 2000 hours logged.

    • Battlefield 2 (PC) - Somewhere around 300-500 hours over a couple years, despite what Xfire says. My old PC couldn't run both at the same time comfortably, so I never turned it on. The total hours for this would still be going up if Quake Wars didn't beat it into the ground in every way imaginable.

    • Halo 1 (Xbox) - Countless hours with the multiplayer, and something like 50 times through campaign on Legendary (not kidding).

    • Warcraft 3 & Frozen Throne (PC) - There was a point in time when the game came out in '02 where I was playing every night for at least 4 hours. I didn't track how long I played back then, but I'm sure I spent as much time with it as I did working my day job. I stopped playing the game as much in '05, and then completely stopped for Company of Heroes, due to that game's sheer awesomeness.

  2. #2
    Monster Hunter 1 - 800 hours.
Monster Hunter Freedom - 750 hours
Monster Hunter Freedom 2 - 270 hours and counting.
Final Fantasy Tactics - 120+ hours.
As you can see i am addicted to Monster Hunter.
When it comes down to picking between Halo3 and MHF2 on psp. I almost always pick MHF2. So much more compelling.

  3. Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow (online only since I've never played any SC game single player) - 2 to 3 hours at least 3 nights a week (sometimes 4 or 5) for two years. Nothing else even comes close.

  4. Civilization Series (1-4) - I'd guess somewhere around 7000 hours over 17 years. It could be a lot more than that but I doubt it's much less.

    X-Com UFO & TFTD - Probably 1000 hours total.

[edit] Jesus, that means I've spent nearly a year of my life on the two of those together.

    Time well spent IMO.
Currently Playing: Final Fantasy V Pixel Remaster (PC), Let's Build a Zoo (PC) & Despot's Game (PC)

  5. No game I've ever played, including Starcraft, Gunbound, Gears of War, Breath of Fire III, etc., even comes close to the time I've spent on Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

I traveled to major touraments and spent countless hours practicing both at home and in New York. All the Street Fighter games combined (even A3, a game I also spent a great deal practicing) don't even come close to MvC2.

  6. Starcraft and Goldeneye, Mario Kart 64. Same thing as everyone else. couple of hours everynight for the better part of 2 years
    Finished Games of '09
    nothing at this time

I just... I had no idea people played those games at all.

Like seriously, you could have said Diddy Kong Racing - 1,000,000 hours and I probably would have been less surprised.

  8. Starcraft and Warcraft III, not to mention WoW. Holy shit, probably 1000+ hours on WoW, probably more.

I played Disgaea for 180 hours in order to kill Prinny Baal and make a sick party with best weapons.

  9. I don't want to know how many hours I've put into Halo 2. Bungie says 7,600 games but that doesn't count customs or incomplete matches (easily a few hundred).

Other than that, shit, I think Final Fantasy 8. It wasn't even that good compared to others, but it's what I owned at the time. I did 99 hours/max hour counter on at least 2 save files back in middle school.

  10. StarCraft for sure.
