Yeah the last thing I want to see on my HDTV, HDMI enabled PS3 is a fucking desert. Full of canyons. I'm sure the gameplay will be great, but to the setting I say this: wtf.

So you'd hate the see beautiful rolling hills pasted with the wonderful particle effects of sand blazing across the wind, shadows of the far and between clouds complement the exquisite detail of the sand as it constantly shifts and forms waves resembling the ocean? As well as the heat coming from the beating sun create mirages and (I have no clue what the term is) causing that weird vision blur, not to mention the dark canyons that almost seem welcoming from the torturous sun as they sprawl across the desert?

I think if done right that could absolutely be amazing.

You make a good point. Maybe I'm thinking too last-gen. A next-gen desert might be pretty sweet. Still though, I dunno, fuckin' desert.

I think the flying part sounds awesome, regardless of the environment. But I really like how SOTC had some different environments.

And, Opaque, the premise seems like total ass. I guarantee you're reacting this way because it's team ICO, and for no other reason. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, as they produce strong games with strong emotional character, and innovative game-play, but I'll reserve judgment until I actually play whatever this ends up being.

I am reacting this way because of who the developer is.

If an MMORPG was announced that had a sci-fi theme but the developer was a no name, no one here would give a shit. But if you found out that game was World of Starcraft and was being developed by Blizzard, half this board would shit itself. A game with a huge open world and a fun way to interact with it by any other developer would be a wait a see affair, when it's Team ICO I have some faith.
