$40 for a wiimote. $20 for the nunchuck.

    $50 for a wireless 360 controller.

neither have standard included rechargable batteries.

    DS3 does.

Not defending its pricepoint, but to say that its a sin when the other 2 dont seem to be doing any better is pretty silly

  2. I hope DS3 is of higher quality construction than the Sixaxis is, at least. I was using one of my DS2s last night and the d-pad and buttons feel a million times better than the Sixaxis. Both of my PS3 controllers have shitty, mushy X buttons already after less than a year of use. I have a bunch of garbage PS1 controllers here and I've been meaning to try to switch the rubber pad under the buttons out and see if it works, but I'd really rather not have to do that on controllers that cost $50+.

On the upside, the "non-replaceable" battery in Sixaxis is very easy to get to and remove, so that won't be an issue when it comes time to get a new one.

They are, i have 2. Besides the fact that one is white, i dont have to read the controllers to see which one of the others is the black DS3, holding it for at least a second its noticeably different.

im sure the weight of the rumblers helps with that.

the shell is different, its heavier and not see through, and also is solid (you can bend sixaxis controllers, dualshocks are rock solid.

Don't forget that the Wiimote is basically the new tech, so it makes sense that the controller is the most expensive part of the system. Not defending it though, it still sucks to pay that much for the whole set.

That's good news! As much as I thought it was awesome when I first noticed that the Sixaxis was transparent, the plastic is trash. Though I'm not too crazy about shelling out for even more controllers to replace the lousy ones I already have, at least they'll be decent ones this time.

  9. I will probably have to get one. The thumbsticks will still be trash, but it'll be an improvement. I'd love to use the 360 pad via USB though.

  10. If someone is interested, I have a $10 off $50 coupon from Play-Asia. All i ask is that you use my affiliate link.
