I hope DS3 is of higher quality construction than the Sixaxis is, at least. I was using one of my DS2s last night and the d-pad and buttons feel a million times better than the Sixaxis. Both of my PS3 controllers have shitty, mushy X buttons already after less than a year of use. I have a bunch of garbage PS1 controllers here and I've been meaning to try to switch the rubber pad under the buttons out and see if it works, but I'd really rather not have to do that on controllers that cost $50+.
On the upside, the "non-replaceable" battery in Sixaxis is very easy to get to and remove, so that won't be an issue when it comes time to get a new one.
