Gaming Gods must be against me. I bought a 80gig PS3 on 12/1. I find a 60gig at a Kmart. I fire up the 60gig to see all is kosher. PS2 playback is flawless, the 80gig goes back to Best Buy. Best Buy proceeds to give me a hassle about returning it, but I get them to take it back anyway.

I get home and now the 60gig turns on but no picture. I've tried hdmi and standard a/v cables. No dice!

Sure its not the TV? Just throwing that out there.

Ok, so I'm buying a PS3 after Christmas, and I'm going to give B-Ri or whoever else a chance to sell me the 80 gig pack over the 40 gig.

Upconverted PS1/PS2 games. If that interests you, go with the 80GB. If it doesn't, go with the 40GB.

4 USB ports are better than 2?

Honestly, the software BC sounds like such shit that if I was faced with the decision, I'd probably get the 40 and throw a bigger hard drive into it later if I needed to.

It doesn't have BC at all. And I <3 my 60GB as well. It will always be the best one.

I'd go with 40 since it's even more quiet, screw PS2 games.

60GB is hardware, 80GB is software, 40GB has none.
