Ugh, it's always something. My Slim feels noticeably slower when loading games than my old 60GB. I don't think it's a psychological thing because I'd never read that and had no reason to expect it. I found this:

which is hardly exhaustive (they only tested like two games), but says games should be faster while movies will be a bit slower. Could just be my unit I guess.

I haven't noticed it with games, but Blu-rays load slow as fuck on my Slim. I don't know if that's true of the format in general, as I've only loaded them on this machine. Definitely annoying.

My XMB has been stupid slow lately. I've got 60 gig left open on my slim so it's not a space issue. Yesterday I went to look at what trophies I needed while playing LA Noire and it took about two minutes for the XMB to finish with the arrow spinnies to show the info.

I realize I'm 3 years and change late here, but is it just me or is the AI in wipeout hd (fury) wildly inconsistent and does that make the ships' stats not really mean anything? I can not win this one race for the life of me and even the slowest ships stats-wise are coming in first ahead of all the top-end ones

edit: this is a rapier class (3 out of 4 star) single race about halfway through the wipeout hd set of levels on the default difficulty

I just noticed the Welcome Back thing in Game Informer while taking a shit today, so I went up and signed on and got my theme and whatnot, but I wasn't paying attention and kinda rushed through thinking Oh SWEET I can get LBP and finally try Infamous for free? Then I was saw the instructions saying click download free game one and click BACK to select your game. Well, I'd already gone ahead and clicked through to download all the game 'passes' if you will, and couldn't figure out how to queue up the games. Then I recalled that the last day was the 18th, but I was already late to leave for work. Have I just completely fucked up getting 2 free PS3 and 2 free PSP games?

Nevermind, it was a relatively easy find I just didn't have time to look for earlier. Looks like shits available until July 3rd. I must admit it's a pretty cool move on Sonys part to give out full games for free.
