Thread: Washing new clothes...

  1. Washing new clothes...

You go to the store to buy new clothes. You take the clothes you just bought home. Do you wash those new clothes before wearing them? A co-worker of mine said that's what she does. I've never heard of anyone doing this, so I ask do any of you here or even have heard of people doing this?

I typically do that as well to get the wrinkles from folding out.

  3. I don't wash them but I double check to make sure I am buying something new. I guess it wouldn't hurt.

  4. I ussually wear whatever it is twice before washing it, just so it still looks new. Once the washing begins, so does the fading/degradation.

  5. Depends if it's something that other people could have been trying on. I usually try to wash it first, but I've run into situations where I needed something clean and just grabbed some new article of clothing I had bought and put it on.

Seems to me like shirts would be a bigger wash priority than jeans, which are typically a lot more durable to dirt and whatnot. Also peoples armpits stick and aren't protected against the material with underwear a lot of the time.

I don't usually wash them immediately.
