The issue on that is simple. He had the original TF writers start, due to the Writers strike. Orzi and Kutzman wrote a simple outline. He started principal filming by this point. When the strike was over ... The third writer came in and filled out the blanks, with the help of Orzi and Kutzman. By now it was too late and Bay was going in a direction he felt was appropriate (going off the outline). So, all three writers diverted the script to match Bay's film.

Without getting into a cortex-waving contest, I'll venture that I'm smarter than 90% of y'all. I love the damn movie. Enjoying something with huge glaring problems does not require a stupid viewer. Mystery Science Theater made a career out of enjoying movies with huge glaring problems.

Just limber up your eyeballs so you can roll them as much as needed, crack jokes when the script hands them to you on a silver platter, go pee in the bathroom when the actors start talking, and soak up the $200 million of "awesome".

the only thing awesome about the movie, outside of the fight in the woods, was how poorly the film was put together and the magnitude of its shittiness.
