Dude, countless King shorts have been turned into full-length movies. Even The Shawshank Redemption was originally just a novella.

Actually three of the four novellas from Different Season (the book with Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption) got turned into movies. Two of them were turned into awesome movies (RH&tSR = Shawshank Redemption of course, and The Body = Stand By Me). Apt Pupil sucks, though.

Wow taste really is subjective. But since most of you fuckers thought Transformers were good cinema and one of you preferred Die Hard IV to the original, its not really that taste is subjective as there is a just a massive lack of it here at times.

1408 was completely average, but it was celebrated I think because horror movies for the last 2-3 years have been horrible to the point of incompetence, and this was an average horror story, with decent directing and a good lead, so it seemed like an orgy of terror to some.
