Checked out Shoryuken, and it's not internal... nor 2D. It's called Fate/Unlimited Codes and it's being farmed out to Raizing (who did Kenichi for Capcom and Bloody Roar) and Cavia (who did Fate/Tiger Colosseum for PSP).
It could be a different game from that one. I can barely read anything of that scan to know what's up with that one.

Chance for that seems low since details on Unlimited Codes are only coming out now (through Famitsu). The game is also scheduled for 2008. I don't see them making 2 different games at once and having them compete against each other. I'd love to be wrong though!

You talking about Fatal/Fake? Don't think it'll be the same game. I remember downloading that before I even knew what Fate/stay night was and I didn't particularly like it either. The character names also made me think it was some generic fighting game where the creator couldn't even be bothered to think of any cool names, let alone make the game fun.
Now that I've watched the anime/read up on the story more, I should go and try it again some day since I'll probably be able to appreciate it more. Plus they probably released a bunch of patches by now.

I dunno, this looks EXACTLY like Fatal/Fake. Design, the attacks, the levels, it matches it 100%.
The main reason why I think it won't be is why would Capcom need to employ both Cavia and Raizing to work on it if it has anything to do with Fatal/Fake? They could just let whoever made the game in the 1st place do all the work for them. Plus looking at videos, Fatal/Fake looks more cel-shaded than Unlimited Codes and you can visibly see the black outlines on Fatal/Fake when they're close. The character themselves aren't very unique in the first place either (except Rider imo... maybe Archer too).
