Thread: No Country for Old Men

  1. I liked this movie. I like it more the second time. I plan on buying the book soon.

    I was fine with the ending, completely getting caught off-guard, and the near lack of soundtrack. It all felt new, like something that hadn't been done in movies. But there was one thing, one question I had, I could never explain.

    Why in the hell did Llewelyn go back to give that guy water??

    Ok...
    1) He had the money. What the hell else did he think he was going to get out of this guy?
    2) The guy was already shot. He could haved died.
    3) Several hours had passed between finding the 'ultimo hombre,' going home, and sleeping... again the dude could have died.
    4) It was a drug deal gone wrong. People are going to go back.
    5) These same people are going to be angry.

    So what the hell was he thinking???

    Seemed pretty obvious that it ate at him to leave a dying guy in the middle of the desert rather than helping him.

    I had to think twice about pirating this one, not because it was that good... but because the fuckers had a copy protection on it that the latest Mac the ripper couldn't penetrate.

    Finally saw this. It was alright. It's like they're just making Fargo again. I'm amazed that the baddie was fucking Two-Face. Literally. The man was practically ripped directly out of Batman lore. Sure, a bit different, but essentially the same.

    I could say a lot more about this movie, but...eh. I like Fargo more.
    Explaining that Anton was not in the room (which I assumed, but wasn't sure about what they were trying to say) fits perfectly into my understanding of the film.
