I did and took some kids used copy of Fight Night laying on the counter, showed her the underside and put it in and turned it on. 1 minute later the outer half of the disk information was Sony PSOne black. The inner half was normal. I showed her and she gave me a new system as well as replaced the games I had bought at the time.
