As far as I know the apes will eventually take over all human tasks.
Yes, this is technically a book, but if there can be a thread for Understanding the Tenth Dimension in sound off, then this should be okay since they both open themselves for further discussion.
The World Without Us by Alan Weisman:In this far-reaching narrative, Weisman explains how our massive infrastructure would collapse and finally vanish without human presence; what of our everyday stuff may become immortalized as fossils; how copper pipes and wiring would be crushed into mere seams of reddish rock; why some of our earliest buildings might be the last architecture left; and how plastic, bronze sculpture, radio waves, and some man-made molecules may be our most lasting gifts to the universe.

Ugh, I hate getting raging boners at work.
I took all your French Toast.
Press your notebook to your lap, and walk to the bathroom.
I heard about this book on All Things Considered over the summer and told myself I shouldl get it, but then forgot the title. Then I wanted to get it for Christmas and like magic Regus makes a thread. Awesome.
Anyway, I thought this book would be good research to make an actually good post-apocolyptic/zombie type movie. That shows how the world would really decay if everyone turned into the undead/dust/apes/vampires.
But yeah, I'll be reading this.
yeah i also saw the preview for that will smith movie (argh) I am Legend, which kind of seems like its along the same premise, last man on earth type thing and wildlife overgrowing new york. i might actually go see that just b/c i've been reading this book and would like to see it visually represented
