It says it's a combination of factors which includes how fun it is now, how fun it was at the time, and how big its impact has been.
The problem is it isn't fun now.
Not at all.
It was a lot of fun when it came out, and yes its impact was huge, but its just plain unplayable now.

I think the game and the entire genre is a piece of shit, but "unplayable" is the most mis-used game descriptor of the century.
