  1. Gah. Ain't that the truth.

For the record, the nearest Wal Mart around here is about 30 miles away and across the bay. Also, I could've sworn we did put Baseball Stars (original) on the list. Crazy.

Fuck the NES one. We're talking about the Neo Geo versions. It's an absolute disgrace that not a single game from the Samurai Shodown, King of Fighters, Fatal Fury, or Metal Slug series was on the list.

Metal Slug I can get behind, but not the others. Guilty Gear is a better 2D fighting series than any of the SNK ones.

  5. Bwa? Are you fucking serious?

No, Guilty Gear isn't as good as any of those. Mark of the Wolves and Third Strike are the two best fighting games ever, and neither made that shit list.

You should have put Mortal Kombat up there. It would have fit in with the quality of the rest of the choices.

  7. Guilty Gear is like MvC2, if you stripped out all the recognizable characters, replaced them with a bunch of manga retards, and added a bunch of nonsense to the fighting system.

    Amen to that.

Mark of the Wolves is pretty highly overrated among online dorks. I admit I haven't played it a whole lot, but I tried playing with my fighting game buddies years ago and we just didn't get its appeal. Third Strike is alright but high level play looks insanely dull so I never got into it.

Guilty Gear's pretty different from the Vs. games, but of all of them MvC2 is the least comparable. Also, I agree that there's a lot of nonsense to the fighting system (it's got complications that don't help the gameplay) but it otherwise plays very well. It's the only non-Capcom fighting series I liked.

EDIT: Also, don't hate 'cause Guilty Gear character design goes beyond "guy with hat" and "guy with vest."
