ok. Let me help you here. SNK makes better fighting games than anyone but Capcom. Capcom's worst fighting series are the versus shit. alright is not a word.
xS pops in once a year or so now. He never stays unfortunately.
Never one to post in excess, that guy.
My problem with Guilty Gear is that it doesn't change enough between iterations. X2 blew me away -- I traveled up and down the east coast playing that game, but my enthusiasm waned as the series went on. I will definitely credit Arc for implementing a frantic, maliable combo system while managing to keep the games relatively balanced and infinite free (between X2, #R, /, and AC).
SNK/Playmore's design theory is the polar opposite of Arc's. The games change so much from year to year that characters and casts are hardly even recognizable. Unfortunately, since they perennially choose recreation over revision, almost every SNK-made fighting game is saturated with infinites and/or absurdly abusable shit. They've managed to strike gold a few times with KoF 98, 2002, XI, Fatal Fury Real Bout 2 and MotW, but the vast majority of SNK's library falls apart in competitive play.
LOL, does it really? It's also got "anemic chick with a big yellow key (who is also her husband) who was born in the fourth century who then time travelled to the future, which was actually the past, where she got bandages which contain the souls of some-kind-of-80's-music-reference".
AKA
Manga Retardation.
How is GG like MvC2 with additional nonsense? Nothing has more nonsense than MvC2.
GG is nowhere near as complicated as it looks and I do love it, but Garou and 3S are still better. I was finally going to pick up AC this month, but I got KOF XI and suddenly I'm not quite as excited about it. My interest has been gradually fading since #R, as much as I hate to admit it.
Guilty Gear shares nothing with MvC2 aside from chain combos and, during certain matchups, speed. I suppose you could say they're both juggle-crazy, but so is Virtua Fighter, and I don't think anyone would suggest that GG and VF are alike.

They're both extremely spazzy.
Also, the fighting system reads like an art history textbook. Roman Cancel? Dust? k?
GG if anything isn't as good as MVC2, which in itself, ain't great.
