Thread: IGN's Top 100 Games

  1. Anyone who is competent isn't going to get hit by an IK. That is why they should be taken out of the game, because they are so stupid.

  2. The issue is more that if you know what's going on you're probably not going to get nailed with one, and you're also probably not going to try to do one either, so I guess they're just there because they didn't feel like taking them out? I mean, some of the animations are kinda cool to see once or twice, but... still a poor idea.

Stuff like dust attacks are weird but I don't think anything else is outright stupid or even terribly unintuitive. I feel like you've already made up your mind, so I'm not gonna waste the effort because all it did was piss me off when people tried to explain why I should like MvC2.

Only one of my roommates likes fighting games a good deal, and he only started playing 2D fighters this year or last. He's getting really good at 3S, but he won't touch GG. Some people just seem to take to it and others absolutely can't be bothered. I mean, the people I've known who've hated the game have had more patience for almost any other fighting game besides it. I'm not really sure what that is.

  3. I'll give it another spin next weekend, but it's probably going to be traded out for some sort of Capcom collection or another. Not digging the substance or the style. Especially the style.

edit-o-rama: Back to the list... 4 Zelda games? Really? Two from N64?

There should be exactly one N64 game on the list, Mario 64, and Mario Galaxy should remove that one from any future lists.

  5. I'd argue against StarFox as well, on account of a) it not being very fun, and b) it's already on there as Atari Star Wars.

5 Zelda games. No Beyond Good & Evil.

  7. 5? Agh.

One listing that reads "Zelda Game" would be sufficent.

Two MGS games and no Splinter Cell titles. I suspect MarkRyan's influence...

  9. StarFox over SF64? I don't really get that one. I liked the first a lot when I was younger, but it's really hard to play today and I'm not thoroughly convinced it'd be a great game even if it did have a tolerable framerate.

Even for such a careless list that appears to be randomly thrown together, 5 Zelda games is a lot. It's bad enough that everybody has to pretend Ocarina of Time is one of the greatest games ever made blah blah blah garbage. May as well have thrown Zelda II and the GBC titles on there too, why the hell not? Looks like they got the right number of Splinter Cell games to me, though.
