Here is a email I just got from the Tradewars admins... Does anyone play this old BBS now Telnet game anymore? It would be interesting maybe for some of us TNL'ers to maybe get a CORP going. Let me know if any of you played this in the past/current.... If you have never played before check the site out.

To the Tradewars Community,
Due to the recent staff changes and reasons behind them we feel it necessary to part ways and return control of ClassicTW.com to JP and whom he sees fit to run it.
In essence I Vulcan will no longer be hosting the site and will be giving control of it back to JP. JP has already expressed his desire to move the site from my server to a dedicated site of his choice.
I have already set up a new site for the community at http://twcentral.net and for ease of use all public posts have been mirrored on the site.
Because of frictions between the Admin staff and Space Ghost we don’t feel comfortable with him coming back as an admin in the site. SG has made it clear his intentions to remove us from the admin functions once he comes back, and has made other vindictive posts regarding his intentions of the site. With this in mind we don’t feel we can trust him, anymore than he feels he can trust us. JP continues to insist that SG must be in charge of the site. This has to be a team effort with each team member trusting each other, and the tensions generated recently are not reversible. There’s been lots of correspondence with JP and it comes down to his way or the highway and I’m no longer willing to sit on the sideline and have no say on my own site. Sorry to inconvenience the community as a whole, but I feel I’ve been left no options.
The new site has an admin team complemented with IT Techs to listen to the input of users and help improve the site. It is our goal to implement new features into this site; our hands were tied by the software, and personnel in charge of the old site. We have archived the messages from the old site, and transferred them to the new site to avoid them getting erased or lost. Your user accounts, passwords, and messages will all be just as they were.
I thank the community for the support you’ve shown me and this site over the past years, and will look forward to continuing to serve you with the new site.

Usurper was the poop.... that was a fun game. 2400 baud, spending your 100 turns and waiting 24 hours to come back is something I will never forget in TW....The games now for TW are more accessible and team play is taken to a deeper level. Teh internets does wonders. I'm itching to get a CORP going... let me know if anyone is down... So much strategy, so much fun.

Does it play like Halo 3?

Yes, but without any graphics and you have to use your keyboard. But other than that it is exactly like Halo 3.

Is there a place online we can start a LORD game? If so I'm in.

Looks like there's a web based game called LOtGD which is a pseudo remake that's open source. We just need web space and we can set up a game. If Nick is willing to put it up on TNL's page then we're set, if not we need someone with web space to host it.
