I bought a PS3 and have put about 20 minutes into shitty games.
Well Resident Evil 5 is comming out soon, as well as a few other big titles. Not that shocking really.

RE5 isn't even remotely soon. I'd be surprised if it hits the end of 2008. A week or two ago there was a news article about progress on the White engine going very slow and that they don't expect FFXIII to hit till 2009, and MGS4 is a Q2 2008 release right now so that's still half a year away.
you know, im not a fan of sony, and im not going to pretend i ever have been, so feel free to dismiss what i say out of hand because im a "nintendo fanboy", but looking at the sales charts from kotaku, i dunno about this "win" for sony. Sony got a bounce from dropping their price, thats good, but so did the gamecube. if we see it sustained, then we can call it a trend, but this has been a few months out of a completely nintendo dominated(with a notable bounce for the psp who seems to be really kicking butt there too as of late) year in japan, so not sure if you can call it a comeback. they are doing infinitly better in japan than they are in america though, if the npd numbers are to be beleived where our sanity seems evenly divided between the 360 and the wii.
My other reservation comes from the fact that looking at the sales charts in japan, this surge was based on one game coming out, and its not a good game, its a dynasty warriors game. Now there are games on the sony system that deserve sales, rachet and clank looks like typical insomniac genius, and you guys seem pretty jazzed on uncharted, but im not seeing those games post impressive numbers(uncharted isn't out in japan yet, but r&c posted some unimpressive numbers, which is bull not not much of a surprise for japan recently) But is "sanity" really buying dynasty warriors games? I mean if sony were to get great sales based on great games, great, more power to them, but looking at a market bouyed by 260,000+ copies(based on the media create charts, it was off the top 10 last week so i dont have the up to date tallies for it) of shin sangoku musou 5, thats not a sign of progress, and R&C falling off the top 30 software charts there in 3 weeks? not a positive sign for good games.

It was a real hard decision, back in August, between buying a PS3 (60gig) or a 360 Elite, but having the option of HD movies on Blu-Ray was a big selling point for me. I'm having a real hard time going back to watching DVD movies, after seeing how great HD movies look on Blu-Ray.
Uncharted may be the latest great game to arrive on the PS3, but overlooking a great game, in Heavenly Sword, is such a shame. I feel that the game does everything that was great about God of War and magnifies it by 10. It really is a great title, though many try to downplay it.
I'm pretty sure this is partially due to the fact that Wii's have gotten scarce again lately, at least they are around my area. That may have contributed to Sony winning.

Well crap, I was looking forward to it. The new infinite custom combo system sounded like just the shot in the arm these games needed.Cultural importance of the subject matter (even though the story is actually from China, these people [alongside Japan's own Warring States Era heroes who not coincidentally also got a Musou franchise] are Japan's George Washingtons) + pokemon appeal (tons of characters to unlock and then level up).
My point is that you have to buy a newer model 360 or buy extra accessories to get any of those things. Also, there is something to fill the PS3 HDD with. It's called installs so that games like Uncharted literally never load.
I'll make another thread on the PS3 in 2008. But using Ghost Squad as a positive for the Wii and ignoring Time Crisis 4 is just inconsistent bullshit. Even in the arcade, Time Crisis blows GS away. Add in that the Wii doesn't even have a light gun, and that's a joke.I don't care about PC gaming, so that's a non-issue for me. I'm still wondering what are all these massive PS3 exclusives for next year that make it a must-buy right now. I will say that if I had the spare $500, I'd buy it (I will eventually), but I don't see anything that draws me to it so eagerly. The Wii did a 180 for me with Zak & Wiki, SMG, and Ghost Squad, but I don't see the PS3 getting there just yet. Hell, it can't even do Orange Box right.![]()
And the 360 can't do Orange Box right either. It doesn't offer any control options. It won't have mods or user created content. I could go on forever.
I'd love to hear about the 360 "exclusives" for next year.The 360 has a a few exclusives I'm interested in for next year, plus the multi-platform games. Uncharted really looks great, but I'm still waiting for that killer app.
