Thread: TNL's GotM: November 2007

  1. Super Mario Galaxy

I haven't played any of the PC games or Rock Band, so this can be considered as my console GotM. Super Mario Galaxy met my high gameplay expectations so it has my vote. Uncharted would be my #2. I haven't played enough through ME (exchanged my first copy) but it has a chance to be the first RPG I've finished since the first Wild ARMS (or FFVII, occurred around the same time). Probably won't happen, though.

Seriously. I will be getting 4 more of these titles for Christmas so I will hold my vote. I still have a feeling SMG will get my vote, but agreed, it's not fair for me to cast a vote yet.

The fresh universe and backstory and unknown characters types are among the things I liked so much about it.

Regardless, I don't see why you'd complain about a game not being a licensed property (sports excluded), especially when you're dealing with one of the most abused cases of all time.Mass Effect has a number of flaws but I can't think of many it shares with KOTOR (aside from maybe the Mako and Ebon Hawk gun turret as "weak vehicle sections"). Elaborate?
I'll be happy to, but I'll do it in the Mass Effect Thread.

  4. SMG is GOTM, GOTY, and probably GOTDecade for me. I haven't had this much fun with a single-player game in a long, long time.

  5. Rock Band wins for me.

The only other games I've played on that list is Call of Duty 4.

  6. I could honestly vote for CoD4 or Uncharted...but Mario gets the month for me. Damn 4th Quarter.

  7. I know I may be dead-wrong picking Contra 4 over Mario, but I've never played Mario. In fact, I don't think anybody's played Mario. I've never even seen a Wii on a store shelf after all this time. No exageration. Mario Galaxy might as well be software for that "Ziggy" thing that Al carried around to help Sam make his next leap.

    So Contra 4 it is.

  8. Rock Band.

    And Gears of War.

  9. #49
I've seen Wiis three times in a year: Once at Circuit City when I bought mine, a single unit at Target over the summer, and a shload at Toys R Us a couple weeks ago when I bought my parents'. It is ridiculous how hard they are to find.

  10. The only time I saw one is when I grabbed the last one from a shipment at a TRU in Jan. 2007. Considering I'm in a BB, Circuit City, or EB once/twice a week I'm really amazed by that.
