some hi-hat pedals made for electronic drum sets seem to have plug-and-play capability as a replacement for the crappy Rock Band kick pedal.

Time to give my Roland pedal a try tonight.

Dude, anything that is a momentary contact switch triggers the bass drum.

The circuit needs to be normally open, but that's the only caveat. And, like, 99.9999% of all momentary contact switches are normally open.

As an aside, the window security switches used in mods are "normally closed" because I can only assume they are meaning closed as in "window is closed", not circuit is closed.

A little over 80 including tax and shipping. Far too much for anyone but a total Rock Band fanboy (read: me).

Now to get my drums replaced so my yellows and greens are reliable again.

I just got this game this weekend and can confirm that I do indeed suck. Easy mode's beat, and I'm working through medium, but hard is going to hurt.

Expert? Yah, right.

I find that I'm much happier just forgetting that drums exist in this game and playing guitar/vocals instead.

Everytime I drag the drums out I just get pissed off at how shitty they are.
