The animation team without Serkis' amazing performance would be no better than Serkis' performance in the hands of rank amateur animators. I get that you think they're being robbed of their due credit, and maybe there's some merit to that, but turning that around and acting like they could have done it without him makes you no better.

First sentence is bullshit. Plenty of hand keyed animation looks just as good as Gollum in the Hobbit. Have you ever seen raw uncleaned mocap? The animators deserve a shit ton of credit. Not giving them any is pure bullshit. Plus they could have done it with out him, his performance with out any animators touching it up would have been a mess.
