Overall, I liked it, and I would give it about an 80%
Some points worth mentioning:
-The movie's soundtrack, featuring Kimya Dawson, is really aimed towards earning the film some "indie cred". It's quite cute and fitting though.
-Theres some great, fun lines. However, sometimes it feels a little forced. For example, while it is great seeing Rainn Wilson appear as a store clerk, his lines were a little too goofy to be played off naturally by him. Also, in no attempt to sound sexist here, lead Ellen Page and Olivia Thirbly have some very Superbad-esque exchanges of dialogue that just don't come of as very funny when delivered by the two girls.
-Ellen Page does an awesome job here, and her character is overwhelmingly likeable. Infact, the whole ensemble cast does a great job overall. Jason Bateman plays it cool and almost gets a little creepy, while Jennifer Garner plays his controlling wife. J.K. Simmons is oustanding as Juno's father.
-Michael Cera isn't in this as much as you would think, but he's in it enough to build a strong character. He's very likeable here, aswell. Having the two leads being so likeable really supports the final point of this movie.
Juno does its job well. Its able to be funny and quirky and sweet and "cute" without treading down the beaten "romantic comedy" road. See it when it hits anywhere near you.
i've been wating for this. too bad i'll have to wait till January on the main release. i didn't even know Ellen Page was in X3 until i watched it again the other night.
Ellen Page is grawesome. Looks like this is playing in one of the Landmark theaters nearby. These past few months have been outstanding for movies that aren't stupid.
Yeah, like... the film centers on a prenancy. Which is a common thing that leads to life. Which is a common thing in humans. Nice that it's obviously just aping Knocked Up somehow, which is a very recent movie and this was likely well into production before it's release.
