I always mean to get into bitcoin. But it always seems like tinfoil hat shit and I lose interest.

There's really no need to use bitcoins if you aren't buying guns, drugs, or slaves.
Bitcoin mining only makes sense if you already have a monster of a computer with some free time on its hands.
It's nice that it exists as an alternative to government issued money and paypal, but it's value is far too unstable and unpredictable.
