Well I ran out of genuinely hi-larious material in 2001 HEYO! so I just had to bust a freestyle. I bet Japan has pickled shatpatties for sale on every corner. And some girl has no doubt been poorly paid to get her titties involved.

I played the Bowie and Police packs and neither one is that great. "Heroes" was cool on vocals, but that's about it. Also played "Jukebox Hero," and it was OK, with vocals being the most fun, again.

I've seen videos of all the other songs and non of them look particularly appealing except maybe the Sabbath songs, but the cover quality keeps me from wanting to pay for them.

So yeah, DLC isn't that great so far aside from the quantity. The quality is merely OK, and I'm not paying for stuff that's just OK.

  4. Time Crisis 4 (PS3 & Arcade) - Enhanced graphics and the Complete Mission mode with playable Captain Rush FPS missions make it a bit better on PS3. Regular shooting stages are played for time attack in CM mode. The only things missing are the gun recoil and true Link Play.

Ghost Squad (Wii) - If the GS cabinet you play on lacks the card reader, this is better than the arcade. It makes me wish for a real gun controller with a circle sight on the tip, rather than using the Wii Zapper. The circle sight on the arcade version's gun is a big help, especially for calibration.

Contra 4 (DS) - What all other Contra games wish they were.

F.E.A.R. Files (360) - In the campaign modes, the enemies don't really recognize your flashlight- but the AI is still pretty good. The Instant Action mode is one of the best extras.

The Orange Box (360) - Half-Life 2 alone justifies the price. Having Ep1, Ep2, and Portal rounds this one out nicely.

Taito Memories Vol. 2 Joukan & Gekan (PS2) - Not a bad selection of Taito classic titles, and Chase HQ finally gets a perfect port (yes, even the Saturn one is a letdown).

Shikigami no Shiro III (360/PC) - Easily as good as SnS II.

Dracula X Chronicles (PSP) - Good combination deal with a remake version and a PCE CD port. Adding SotN isn't too bad either. Now I'm wishing there were a PSP Player for PS3.

After Burner Climax (AC) - Slamming it into Climax mode then utterly decimating an entire enemy fighter squadron with one swift volley of missiles before they know it's coming = the win. Here's one killer superplay from Japan on YouTube, where some player totally routs it with a score of 2.8 M and some serious combos.

    Finished in 2021: 8 games (PC: 4, PS4: 2, PS3: 1, X1: 1)

  5. In no particular order, my top 10

    1. Gears of War: Its the game i play most regularly online with set people. Halo and other games have detracted but the Waaahs live on.

    2. Warhawk: We had played the crap out of this in beta, so once retail launched i played it a bit then just kinda dropped it. With my RROD in the middle of Eternal Sonata, Warhawk was there to keep me entertained. The update is pretty good stuff too. (although i need the 4x4 medal to advance in rank)

    3. Uncharted Drakes Fortune: Great great great game. Tomb Raider meets Gears of war with a dash of Indiana, in a game that actually took the best of what was coming from this generation, and NOT screwing them up, instead doing it all quite well. All around fun game.

    4. Rock Band: Ive only had this game for 2 weeks or so, but its been a ton of fun. Friends are calling and coming over more often then i had imagined for rock band sessions. I wish your avatar could transcend the instruments theyre made off of, because we seem to mix out our arrangement all the time. DLC prices seem a whole lot more fair then GH3s.

    5. Super Mario Galaxy: Leave it to mario to make quite a fantastic comeback. Every single reference to mario 3 made me a giddy school boy inside. Awesome level design, awesome music, and just a whole lot of fun. I loved 64, and enjoyed sunshine, but Galaxy did what i thought couldnt be done, absolutely kill SM64.

    6. BioShock: I had absolutely no interest in this game when i first saw it. The more i looked into the game, the more i couldnt wait for it. Bioshock, while its gameplay mechanics didnt stray too far from some norms, it was a complete package of awesome. The music, atmosphere, characters, amazing graphics, all made it one of the most immersive games ever. My only faults on the game were its shotty 5.1 mixing, and the fact its just not very replayable.

    7. Okami: I dont know WHAT it is about this game but its kept me interested. It kept that clover feel that i loved in Viewtiful Joe. It was a wise choice they took going the artsy direction they did vs the photorealistic direction the game had began as. Sadly this and God Hand (and apparently internal staff splitting) gave an end to Clover

    8. Portal: Single Campaign was awesome, advanced levels were totally satisfying. GLaDOS, the cake, and Weighted Companion Cube are forever instant classics.

    9. Super Stardust HD: This is probably my favorite downloadable game this year. The graphics, soundtrack, and did i say the graphics? The hectic chaotic gameplay, weaponry, enemies, and difficulty has kept me going. I may nto be anywhere close to beating J2Ds scores but i can hold my own ground.

    10. Final Fantasy XII: I dont know what it is about this game, but its been the only FF to stick with me since VII. The gameplay and story were awesome, and finally getting a traditional FF back after the "social-life-succubus" that was XI online was a sigh of relief.

    Honorable Mentions:

Resistance Fall of Man: still one of my favorite FPS and FPS online experiences, and still heavily updated and supported post mortem. The campaign healthy and long, the multiplayer huge, 40vs online.

Heavenly Sword: Despite some technical problems, and peoples ravid hate on its length, I really enjoyed heavenly sword. The story, voice acting, mocap were all super high calibur. The gameplay quick and satisfying. It had its technical issues, many of the games out this year do, yet its amazing to see many jump on one and completely ignore others.
b_ri on Twitch, Games Beaten in 2020 (3): Pokemon Sword (Sw), Detroit: Becoming Human (PS4), Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (PS4),

  6. You know, the sum total of my experience with Afterburner was renting it back when I was a kid, I had no idea until watching that video it was basically the same idea as Panzer Dragoon.

I can only assume you never entered an arcade any time between 1987 and 1990. It was in like every one of them.

  8. Those videos and TNL's chattering about the game over the last few days has made me really, really wish Climax came home. That, or they could go one step beyond that rocking cabinet and make another G-LOC with its engine and build new R360s for it. Maybe ones where the cabinet movement seems to correspond better with what's happening on the screen. Or ones that don't make me nauseous.

It's still in an awful lot of them to this day.
