MTV News is citing an unnamed source who says Microsoft is planning to release a Wiimote-like motion controller by the end of the year. It may not be completely surprising that Microsoft has been looking into motion controllers, but the details behind the reported project are a good read.
For instance, MTV News' source called the Microsoft motion control project a "colossal clusterf---," always a promising sign.
Microsoft reportedly commissioned the increasingly mass market-friendly studio Rare with designing the interface for the controller, as well as Mii-like avatars. Things reportedly haven't been going to plan, and the project has suffered delays. The source said, "Microsoft is trying to decide how to get something out by the end of the year."
