I don't support the ACLU financially because they're the ACLU. They're driven by an agenda that goes beyond the protection of our civil liberties, and I don't always agree with it.

This is completely and utterly false, an image resulting of selective coverage on the part of conservatives and little high profile coverage in general anywhere else.

The ACLU has defended many extremists on the right and the left. There is no agenda to be found and they do important work.

I agree that they do some very important work, but to say that any margin of bias is simply a fabrication of "selective conservative coverage" is foolhardy.

Elaborate then. Other than a lot of saber rattling from the conservatives any time they defend an anthiest or a Jew, what do you base your accusations of bias on?

I mean yeah, maybe they focus more on privacy and speech rights than second amendment rights, I could buy that argument. But come on, they've defended the Klan, white supremecists, conservative media personalities... You can't really say there's a bias on who they feel rights should apply to.

I don't want to hear about how much you support civil rights if you don't think they should be defended in the courts and only from the Oval Office. You're not helping.
