Throw in another vote for Adaptation. I love that movie. And I usually hate self-referential Hollywood-is-so-unfair-to-writers movies.

I forgot about this movie, it's a lot better than I thought it was going to be.
Two years later he won an Oscar!
From imdb: "Nicolas Cage came onto the set dressed up with a wig, albino contact lenses and dark sunglasses because he thought this would add more authenticity to the character of two-bit hustler, Eddie. Cage was told that he could dress up however he wanted for his part."
That's some nice method acting there, Nick.

I always forget that Francis Ford Coppola is his uncle and therefor related to Sofia Coppola and Jason Schwartsman.
Talent pool dried up on that family.
While I haven't seen his latest batch (Lord of War, Adaptation) Nick Cage is awesome in these movies:
Raising Arizona
Leaving Las Vegas
The Rock
Con Air
Since those actually took effort on his part those are why they were good. Ghost Rider is a watchable movie but that doesn't mean that he wasn't also sleepwalking through the entire role and it's obvious that he's trying not to at times but fails.

I'd love to see a morph of Sarah Jessica Parker and Nic Cage's faces together ala Conan O'brien.
found one:
Some of these are great, some not so much.
Nic Cage As Everyone!
I'm not a devious man by nature... but when you're unarmed, your tactics might gonna be downright Archimedean.
