I'm not religious at all, but I'm going to say that it's not that you're incapable of believing in God. It's that you're unwilling to believe in God. And that's the catch. Your belief is of your free will. Although God does want everyone to believe in him, He doesn't create people pre-programmed to believe in him. He creates people with the free will to want, or not want, to believe in him.

And that is why the whole thing's bullshit. Human free will is incompatible with a single, omnipotent, omniscient god. If there's a being with total perfect knowledge of all things past, present and future, and the ability to alter them however it sees fit, that has existed since before everything else, then everything was set in stone from the beginning. That's just basic logic.

Christianity hinges on your ability to look at an either-or proposition and believe both ends are true.

What he really means is it all depends on how young you were force-fed this bs, and how accepting you are to things you're told.
