You have bought into some ultra serious propaganda.
I listened to the Top Secret Bionic Commando podcast and they revealed an interesting tidbit. Do you remember the neutral zone stages in the original NES game where you were not allowed to fire a bullet? The director thought that just walking around in those areas could get boring, so he added Challenge Rooms to those stages that will test your bionic arm swinging skills. They're timed exercises with leaderboard support, and people have found them to be very fun (they're almost like Contra 4's Challenge Mode).
Also, they mentioned that if the game doesn't sell well at $10, it will send a message to publishers that 2D isn't viable, and that Capcom would have been better off providing an emulated port. I'm definitely getting this Day 1, and I hope a lot of people get this game.

If it's a good game (Which honestly it probably will be) but if you wanna support 2d, go buy Odin sphere while you're at it.

No, seriously, I have no idea what you're trying to get at here. Capcom is making a number of awesome-looking remakes and sequels to older and somewhat forgotten titles, and supporting them is a good way to say "yes, I want more of that." It's entirely stupid to suggest otherwise.
p.s. I bought Odin Sphere so FUCK YOU![]()
propaganda FTL.
this IS a day 1 purchase, but dont make me feel it was out of pity then of it looks awesome.

I'll buy this game because it's going to be awesome. Don't try and guilt people into buying a game because "You have to or else you're saying you hate 2D"
Nothing will save 2D, only prolong its terminal illness.
Good evolution to the concept and all, but these were in the original. We all recall the rooms with the bullets that only stuck around for so long, right? So wait - all the 2D support that people who bought handheld games have been giving doesn't count now? Also, they mentioned that if the game doesn't sell well at $10, it will send a message to publishers that 2D isn't viable
Huh, how about that.
