So do pay-for map packs actually drive new sales of a game? Valve reports a 20% sales spike whenever there's a free content update for Team Fortress 2. I can't imagine that these overpriced packs do very much, comparatively.
I mean, as a fence-sitting potential customer (still haven't bought the game), I have to say that this does nothing for me. Include it with the original purchase price and I'd probably bite.

I completely agree.
They wouldn't even push me off the fence if they were included.I mean, as a fence-sitting potential customer (still haven't bought the game), I have to say that this does nothing for me. Include it with the original purchase price and I'd probably bite.

Yeah, more maps are fine by me. $10 is also fine. The notion that ME is somehow "half a game" is nonsense. There's plenty of content and tons of challenge. Whether you like the game is another matter.
"Fiends! Animals! Bastards!"
Yahtzee likes fps and prince of persia. He generally has a liking for unique or other games that do something new. He dislikes nintendo hard games that rely on arcade style perfection. But he either loves a game or hates it, and the love slope is a hard one for him, I think he's liked maybe 5 games he's ever reviewed,
Portal, COD4, Prince of Persia, Pain Killer and he sorta liked Braid. Everything else gets a healthy and often well deserved chunk of bile.
And lets face it he's better at I hate this reviews.
Tried the demo of this the other day, seems pretty cool and very fluid once you get the hang of it, although the color scheme leaves a bit to be desired. May pick this up down the road when it's cheaper.
