Sequel-the aftermath

Sequels are more less than standard for anything that even breaks even, and oh boy are there a lot of terrible ones. And I figured I would be fun to talk about the most crushingly dissapointing sequels that you've encountered.

ALIEN Resurrection-One of the handful of movies I have walked out on. Everything about this film was just so shitty, Culminating in one of the dumbest monster designs in recent memory. If Alien 3 didn't kill the series they made damn sure this one did.

Star Wars Episode II: The Clone Wars-This ranks as one of my most hated film, ever. Nothing about this movie worked, the script and plotting was total shit. And some good actors giving the most embarrassing performences of their lives. Even the two decent fights in the film didn't make a dent in the black hole of suck that was this movie. This killed star wars for me for a long, long time.

Jaws The revenge-The sequel to quite possibly my favorite film ever is just awe inspiring in it's inpeptitude. The defining part of this Jaws was how spiffy the shark looked. The tears in the foam rubber prop shark were fantastic. A shining achievment for michael Caine I'm sure.

I cringe at just about every line anakin has in this movie, and I knew something was wrong when even Christopher Lee was having trouble delivering a good performance

Godzila Final Wars

This movie had the chance to be one of the most awesome movies in the series, yet it spent way too much time on the stupid mutant side plot, with horrible matrix ripoff fight and chase scenes, and even a lot of the Godzilla fights were terrible. Utterly a disappointment


Star Trek: Insurrection
After how great First Contact felt, almost everything about this movie was just bad, like Worf going through Puberty

X-men The Last Stand
I made the mistake of actually getting hyped for this movie, for this was the most disappointing of the 3. The lack of a fight between Colossus and Juggernaut, pretty much every scene with Halle Berry, no Nightcrawler, no Gambit, Killing Cyclops, Xavier (and then taking it back) "Curing" Magneto (and taking it back) With the exception of how good Beast turned out, pretty much everything about this movie was a huge let down.

highlander 2: the quickening


edit: technically any highlander movie beyond the first fits the category though, but the quickening is just the worst of the worst

I thought about the one, but I cut it down to bad sequels that sprung from my film favorites. And man are you right about highlander 2 though, it was a fuck up of epic magnitude.

X-men The Last Stand

X2 was so good I got way too hyped for this. Complete disaster of a movie.

Ocean's 12 took a really tight, immensely watchable movie (I have to have seen this over 20 times by now) and made a clunky, painful movie. "Deep Hurting" indeed.

Matrix Revolutions. Reloaded was bad but Revolutions took it to the Next Level. It was like a giant eff-off to fans by the Wachowski's who seemed more interested in showing off how smart they think they are than in focusing and telling a coherent story.

Resident Evil 3 Exctinction - Pile of Shit 07 Horrible, Horrible Horrible. Made me actually like Part 2 a bit more lol

WOAH. Woah woah woah. I'm calling this one out. Final Wars was GLORIOUS. They tried to make the human sequences actually watchable for once, and and everybody cried about it. And the Godzilla sequences were WAAAAY over the top, because it was FUN! The movie could have been called "Godzilla Kicks the Living Shit Out Of Everything In Awesome Ways: Part 1: The Revenge", but it wouldn't fit on the poster.

You'd rather have the bullshit "spy-plot" nonsense from the '70's or the leisure-suited white men aliens from '90's "Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah"? Fuck ALL that. Final Wars is victory.

Hedorah gets STABBED IN THE EYE with another monster. Come on. What the fuck do you want in a kaiju flick?

No, it really was trash. The fights just sucked, more does not equal better. The lame ass CG and matrix wannabe stunts weren't winning it any points either.
