Final Fantasy Tactics Advance-
Gee, I really loved Final Fantasy tactics. The story/settings eskewed sappy wappy f-chan bullshit in favor of a Square-style spin on the culture and political drama of the Middle Ages. It was at once fantasy, yet also somehow felt "real", which made it special. How should we follow this up? By appealing to the lowest common denominator of Japanese consumers (read: 99% of them) and fill it with GODDAMN SAPPY WAPPY F-CHAN BULLSHIT FUCKFUCKFUCKSHITCOCKASSFUCK.

Super Mario 64
Yeah, when I was younger and a lot more retarded than I am now, I managed to convince myself pretty well that this was the pinnacle of electronic entertainment. And I played the hell out of the game. And I got 120 stars. And then I realized that after doing that, I had no reason to play the game ever again. And I didn't.
The reason: if you acquired 120 stars in this game as I have, how does the game show whether you or I did a better job of it? The answer is it doesn't. The answer is that the game gives absolutely no provision to develop any sort of skill to play it or reward you for doing so.

Uh... how about playing the game because you enjoy playing it? What do most games offer as an intrinsic reward, beyond a sense of self-improvement (or if you want to be less kind, you can call it mental masturbation).

Typically most games are played until either the player grows tired of the experience or they have exhausted all of the content. There's nothing wrong with playing Mario 64 and stopping once you get all 120 stars, because you've done everything.

OK. Let's take Beatmania IIDX, add two buttons, make the buttons giant disc things which are completely abstract, get rid of the turntables, get rid of any sort of visual stimulation beyond two super-generic anime characters idly standing at the sides, crank up the pastel colors and homosexuality to 200%, and this is what you get. That this has become Konami's most profitable Bemani series is a pretty damning indictment on Japanese video game players in general. Play IIDX or go home, you fags.

This is stupid. You seem to be complaining because Pop'n is as far away from IIDX as possible, while still being a music game with a unique control scheme. Which is of course the whole point. It's demographic is people intimidated by beatmania's turntable and small piano-like keys, or non-plussed with the techno-heavy song selection. Its success does nothing to hinder the IIDX releases. In fact, it's probably the opposite. Pop'n's success has likely helped IIDX survive by making Konami tons of money, and by bringing new people into the genre.

Halo 2-just seems lame to me compared to 1

Socom-I spent a week trying to figure out the first mission, I gave up on the game and came back 2 months later after giving up on the game and then I figured out what I had to do. Made me hate the series, then I got online and loved it and got good at the singleplayer.

DMC3-totally shit compared to 1 and 2

All the tony hawk games after Underground, I used to skate and Tony used to make games that appealed to me. Now its all arcady and over the top, really lame game compared to the Underground.

COD3-it was filler content tell 4, COD fans face it, it was crap.
