I listened to this sound reasoning and moved my pre-order to Professor Layton. I don't care how bad people say it is, I'll still buy it eventually, but I'm not in any big rush.
I've played through one full "episode" so far, and I think it's decent. It's certainly worth $30 to see the story from a different point of view. The puzzles are pretty tame thus far, but it may be because it's early. I haven't gotten to any combat.
I like that the flashbacks work somewhat like Fatal Frame in that you are looking for the right shot with your camera to jog your memory.
People on this board pay a lot more for games that are a lot worse. This is the same price as a DS game but it runs in 1080p and doesn't have retard controls.

Did they end up getting any of the actors to do the voices?
Claire is pretty close. Jack, Locke and Kate are definitely not the actors. I haven't talked to Michael or Hurley enough to be sure, but I don't think any of them are the same actors. If you're not going to shell out for everybody, picking and choosing doesn't make sense.
