Boston AND Florida pick up points.

Another game Florida loses by entering the 3rd with a 2 goal lead (this is the third game in a row). I have no idea what their problem is. For two periods they look great, and then the 3rd comes around and its like someone hit the off switch. They've got some serious mental issues. It's really driving me freakin' nuts.

Tell me about it. Aside from a small but loyal wealthy/high class following (which I'm certainly not a part of), no one here cares about hockey. But then again, no one here cares about anything, especially sports. All of South Florida has a "wake me up when we're winning and deep into the playoffs" mentality. That's just how Florida rolls, and one of the million reasons why I hate living here.

With that said, the Panthers are a fun team to watch. Sure, they haven't done squat since making the Finals in 96 and have made incredibly retarded decisions in the past, but I like where this current team is heading. I think once they mature and add a quality vet or two, they'll be right in the thick of things.

With the Flyers going south, it's very reasonable that the Isles grab the eigth spot. They are currently in 7th.

Edit: Hmm, wtf? I thought the isles went from 67 to 69 points?

I see..the Isles went from 65 to 67. NHL.com's been updating standings piecemeal throughout the evening so my math came out wrong. Isles are in 9th and are one point back from a three-way-tie for the last three spots.


The conference, and league, is still ridiculously tight thanks to the stupid points system.

It's not almost. Ryan Malone especially is better without him. The sign of a great player is the ability to make those around him better. So, for the 100th time, Ovechkin> Malkin > Crosby.
