Play OT until someone scores, no matter how long it takes. I don't want to hear it. Ties are irrelevant and a real pain when one team or the other actually plays TO tie. W's and L's. End of story.

I love playing until someone scores, and it's why the playoffs are so great, but it's completely unrealistic to expect that all season...all 82 games, with back-to-backs in the schedule.

the NHLPA would never allow it.

I wouldn't mind a season with fewer, more spaced-out games though. 2 games a week instead of 3 is fine by me, if we can go infinite sudden death 5 on 5 OT.

ALSO: Deals with TV networks to cover unlimited OT throughout the regular season would be rough. It's bad enough for the networks during the playoffs.

The Rangers are a winning franchise and have won the Cup within the past 13 years. I'd hardly characterize them as a bankrolled team that never wins. You could make a better case for the Blackhawks as being that.
