Who ever said anything about "earning" it? That doesn't even make sense. We're just talking about how weird it is to start at the end.

I don't see the objection otherwise; it's not THAT hard to cypher out what's going on here --watching the series will give that more depth. Otherwise it's quality television regardless.
Watching the end will diminish your enjoyment when you watch the earlier episodes, and watching the earlier episodes will enhance your enjoyment of the end.
It's not like you can't watch the end and still enjoy it, it's just not as good as doing it the right way.
By the time I get back through it, the end will be just as good but more satisfying. It's not like you can't read a book twice and still enjoy it.
