Thread: Breaking Bad

  1. It was aweful.

  2. I thought shut up and let me die in peace was such a perfect fit and end for Mike. The fact that he didn't shoot him in the head or anything and let the old man have his final moment is what separates this show from others. Walt is still very human and small despite his grand Heisenberg moments lately.

Also the imagery of Walter dragging Mike down in to the weeds and grass was great. They seem very cognizant of setting when shooting this show. Great setting and use of imagery (as usual) - and why I'm a firm believer that this show is the best written show of all time (or close).

I was earnestly uncomfortable with what was about to happen when Walt followed him down to the riverside.

That's not all they're cognizant of:

  4. A boat on a lake and a creek bed are the same?

I just hope Jesse makes it out alive. I thought the grand showdown may be between Hank and Walt. Now, I think it's Jesse and Walt.

The light on the creek, the quick fade to black, the isolation of the protagonist -- I don't see how you can't draw parallels to Part II.

Hank's always been more of a plot device than a character.

  6. Hank was the device that got Walt into this and the one guy that's been on his side in the dark, seems logical he'd be the one to get him out of it (but then so was Jesse).

    Everyone and Walt.

I think you're making far too much out of it, but yes there are definitely parallels. The scenarios and character development are much different, though.

  8. Jesse's ascent from where he was comes at the cost of Walter's descent.

    Duh.

  9. Intense stuff man! Jesse finally standing up to Walt and Walt has a straight up hissy fit when he doesn't get what he wants! The remorse of Walt at the end really struck me, all his grandstanding before is just dust at that moment. Every single week this show is good! One more episode until next year! For the record I think I'm going to vote Jesse vs Walt for the end of the show.

  10. Also I liked the parallels drawn between Jesse dropping out of Walt's program (AGAIN), and Walt having to teach an ungifted kid about chemistry. Out of the frying pan and in to the fire.
