The trailer didn't TOTALLY ruin the ending, as you didn't know exactly WHEN Micah was going to come flying at the camera- I was still caught by suprise when it happened. But including that shot in the trailer was still a fucking bonehead move. I mean, it was obviously Micah, and it was obvious he wasn't getting up afterwards. It's like when Quarantine used the FINAL SHOT OF THE MOVIE not only in the trailer, but on the poster as well! wtf.

Another neat thing I noticed about the ending of this movie, is that after everything is over BOOGA BOOGA and the screen goes black, it stays black for a long time. During this period, the speakers are still playing that low ambient rumble that played throughout the movie when anything supernatural happened.

It kept people on edge even after it was over.

Yeah, we hung out for a little bit to see if anything would happen. Nothing did.

I don't think I heard the rumble during when the screen was black at my showing. The black scene for a little bit, then just a single frame of credits came on, and the theater was dead silent throughout all of this. That shit alone was spooky as fuck.

It wasn't obvious, it was basically just ambient noise, but it was there.

Saw this tonight, it was alright. Didn't see trailers, didn't read reviews. The atmosphere was great and all but I wish they would have done more: Shit like the powder, or the swingset, or the attic, or the dragging I feel like that was when the movie was at it's best. I feel like The psychic was a complete throwaway, I mean he comes in, says this is bad, leaves, comes back, SHIT GUYS THIS IS BAD AND THE DUDE WHO CAN HELP IS OUT OF THE COUNTRY PEACE OUT DUDES, just leaves us back at the beginning. And Micah finding out about Diane? So what.

I want to watch this again, but maybe next time at like 2am at my house alone.

This was all just put in for exposition. Psychic shows up and makes it clear that it's a demon and haunting Katie (Katie, right?) and not the house and that it was bad news. The diane bit just seemed thrown in to make it clear that she's possessed at the end, if that wasn't fucking clear enough already. But yeah, the psychic came back long enough to be like WHOA, NO HELP COMING, LEAVING WON'T DO ANYTHING, GOTTA GO LATER

The commercials for this are really obnoxious. "YOU DEMANDED IT FANS!" The movie may be great, but they're trying way too hard to make this movie blow-up as the next indy cash monster like Blair Witch Project.

Yeah, but the crowd always gets a good laugh out of that bit. I half expected the psychic to go "FEETS, DO YO STUFF!" as he was hauling ass out the door.
