Aggressive advertising for a movie like that always has a backlash. It's like the ads say "SCARIEST MOVIE EVER" and people go in with either way high expectations, or just hate on it for the sake of it.

Well the friend who said it hated Cloverfield too, but like the three of us kept away from ads etc. I knew it was filmed ala Colverfield/Blair Witch but didn't tell him.

It made like 30 million so far so I guess it's working. I just find it obnoxious.

I just saw a screener of this (what can I say, movie companies love me). I really enjoyed it, and the biggest thing was the screener had what DNG listed as Alternate Ending #1, not the ending you guys are seeing. From reading what the current ending is I think this one is much better, it's pretty damned creepy to watch.

I do think that the Original Ending would be best though.
