  1. This comes out April 30. Do any TNLers wanna go to the midnight screening?

  4. If Christopher Reeve was playing Freddy I'd totally be down.

I'd watch the movie twice at the same time if it were so.

  6. I love Harry Knowles loves the NOES remake while every other writer at AICN thinks it's the biggest piece of shit ever made.

  7. I saw it last night. The origin story was interestingly better and the way they portrayed insomnia and the jump scares that came from it were really good.

On the other hand, the pacing was off and it was actually flat and boring for about the first half from the open credits 'till the origin flashback. Then it finally picked up. Best moment, and only true sense of style in the movie, was the pharmacy scene. But then after discovering Freddy's layer, it got slow and didn't know what to do again for no reason. But luckily, that only lasted a few minutes and we were back in the action. End was pretty good, but could have been better.

I'm glad they kept Nancy average looking. Although, they felt they needed to make her a character. So, they chose to make her an artsy chick but this fell into the awesome-creepy origin story, so OK I give you props on that.

Also, as awesome as Jackie is, he either just couldn't do a good Freddy, or they wouldn't let him. The end result is a flat character with very few good, pedo-tastic moments.

  8. Visually, I loved it. There weren't enough really cool moments though, and it wasn't terribly scary. I'd say like, 3.5 stars.

Have you even thought a movie was scary since you were 10? It just comes with being older I imagine.

  10. I liked it too, there were some nice homages to the original and was different enough to keep it interesting. I really liked Jackie and they really brought back the monster Freddy Krueger. He was a shit bag of a person and he was a demon entity after death. He's not an anti-hero lunch box character that the later movies made him. He's straight up evil.

It obviously had it's problems, but the reviews I was seeing made it sound like Nightmare 2 levels of shit. That movie is far and away the worst. I liked how much this one stuck to the rules set by Wes Craven.
