It is a struggle not to watch three episodes a night.

The Wire ended early because not enough people watched it but it was an awesome show. Granted I haven't seen past the first season yet. Awesome stuff though.

The Wire ran it's full course dude. They completed the show with Season 5. The bullshit is that the show never won any awards that it so deserved, it was ignored for same shady reason.

I think for most shows, less is more. Many shows go far beyond their best and get dragged on for too long. 5 or 6 seasons seems to be the sweet spot for the best.

I have yet to watch the rest of it but the impression I got from the Wiki article was that they ended it early because it wasn't getting ratings. But awesome show. I honestly can't wait to watch the rest of it. The scene in the first season when the kids killed the other kid (I'm bad with names) was actually kinda hard to watch. It's been a long time since I've watched anything that made me feel that.

So, bringing back an old-ish thread. But for those that enjoy Friday Night Lights, it's been renewed for two short seasons (13 episodes each).

The creator of The Wire was often on the fence about doing another season. Each year he'd finish a season and then say he'd bring the show back if he came up with something compelling enough to be worthwhile. I think the Wire ended because he wanted it to.

Of course I'm responding to a very old comment so who cares.

I care! I just finished re-watching all 5 seasons in the last 2 months. Still the greatest fucking show ever.

And yes, it did run its full course (Simon's on record saying 5 was right).

I was at The Grove Friday night and my gf and her sister spotted Rose from Privileged. They talked to her and she said her show was canceled. Prob no one watches it here, but it was a good show as far as girl shows go. I'll miss Joanna Garcia
