That arrangement of phrases confuses me. You're dead broke, and thus, if you could afford a widescreen monitor, anyone should be able to? -or you're dead broke because you bought a widescreen monitor?
I haven't come across too many widescreen CRTs (not that I've been looking), and I don't like the color distortion on LCDs when you're not looking at them from their preferred viewing angle.
