Thread: Wanted

  1. Yeah this is the kind of film I can only see buying for 5$ on clearence from best buy.

  2. Rem do you just shit on everything? Really?

But yeah its a mindless/fun action flick with echos of the matrix meets fight club. Only LESS intellectual than either. And neither were better than high school on the challenging ideas scale. I loved it, its not citizen kain or whatever, but it delivers.

  3. Rem do you just shit on everything? Really?
Mostly, but not if it has the words DIE or HARD in the title that's sacred ground.

  4. This movie kicked ass. Best action movie in years. Excessive in all the right places.

McAvoy is everything Shia LeBeef could only wish to be. He's going places. You heard it here first.
"Chuy, you're going to have a magical life. Because no matter where you go, it's always going to be better than Tucson."

  5. In years my ass. Rambo is from this year and easily blows it away. So do Crank and Shoot Them Up

Wanted was decent, but lets not blow it out of proportions because of few overused fx

  6. Haven't watched Shoot'em Up yet but I have seen Crank and Rambo. As much as I loved those two movies, Wanted is the perfect Summer popcorn schlockbuster.

    Overused fx? Check
    Hot chick? Check
    Older mentor dude? Check
    Blood/Gore? Check
    Humor? Check
    Car chases? Check
    Bullet ballets? Check
    Doesn't take itself seriously? Check

I could go on and on but the proof is in the pudding. This movie's a crowd pleaser. That doesn't necessarily make it the greatest action flick ever but it's definitely better made and more accessible than Crank or Rambo. I mean at least you can take a chick to this movie and not have her expect that you're gonna rape her afterward.

  7. LeBeef (lol) has been great in every average movie he's been in.

  8. Best action movie in years
    *Ahem*

  9. I loved this fucking movie. This movie was Fight Club meets the Matrix, with a little dash of Equilibrium tossed in at the end. It was so over the top, it was ridiculous. I had a huge smile on my face the whole way through. This movie is the culmination of all the trends wrought by the matrix, and multiplied by twenty.

This movie was a fucking blast.

I like this director, and I will support him in the future.

  10. High five nigga.
