I got three pairs of Rockports for a grand total of $160 (retail: $365) thanks to a B2G1F at the Rockport outlet south of Portland. The boots alone retail for $165. Can't wait to get some pimp jeans to rock them (see: below).

I'm not really a fan of embroidered or marked denim. More of a black guy thing IMO.

it's about how you present yourself to other people.

There's nothing shallow in wanting to look good and feeling good about it.

Clothes can be fun.

Being interested in clothes doesn't make you gay and it is a proven fact that the fashionable male </Mallrats> will bed more women b/c he will stand out from the fools.

Everyone's first impression of you is based on how you present yourself. It's up to you whether you want to win that first impression or if you want to lose it.

I'm going to my other job now, where I cannot read TNL. I hope that when I get home, open a beer, prepare a meatball sub, and change into shorts and a tanktop, you will have realized you are making your own life hell and keeping the ladies away.

If I was picking up a girl (or trying) with a dragon shirt on I'd immediately break the ice by asking her if she liked my amazing dragon shirt.

I really haven't purchased clothes since god knows when, never really paid much mind to it. But my problems go much further than clothes.

I can tell by the way you post you just need confidence. Looking in the mirror and seeing yourself looking good does that. There's no shame in it, in fact there's pride to be had in looking good. It's just a part of life. We've all been through the growing-out-of-lame-clothing stage. You feel weird for the first 15 minutes. Once you start looking the part you'll get some confidence. Get some confidence and you'll snowball your way through life feeling really good about yourself.

I don't own a pair of boots and I really, really like the look of these. Buckles on boots are cool and these are kind of unique b/c of the vertical buckle. Worn with jeans the buckle won't even be seen until I sit and put my leg up.

The black dude thing is a good point. Not something I'd normally buy but I've yet to buy designer jeans and, to be honest, I'd like a pair of high-end jeans. Affliction makes custom shirts for UFC fighters and Georges St Pierre's symbol is a fleur-de-lis. I like the look of the upside down fleur b/c A) it's different; and B) it's sort of tied to GSP, who is one of my fav UFC guys. I don't like how they're purposefully ripped/worn, but the fleur is worth it imo.

Wear them with Bermuda shorts. I don't personally wear shorts, but those boots would be hilarious with shorts. Whatev's you know what works for you. Nice score on the deal BTW.

Bum: You got a place to stay?

Me: Yes.

I thought it was awesome to be honest. I'd rather identify with the superlowbrows than the fashionistas any day of the week.
