That was one of the few Lynx racers I thought kind of sucked (I got it with my system). It looked fine but it didn't have the sensation of speed like RoadBlasters, Hydra or STUN Runner.

I thought the sensation of speed was good, but the car doesn't turn fast enough (seems like it is stuck on the road). It is still good (for a portable racer) and gave me hopes for the Jaguar version. WRONG.

I wouldn't call those other games racers, though. They were driving/shooting games.

Checkered Flag was pretty vanilla, but it controlled well, had a lot of tracks, and good multiplayer. I love the theme song too.

Unlike Hydra, Checkered Flag doesn't have godawful control. Who the hell thought that pressing down to accelerate was a good idea?!

I always hated games that made you press up/down to change gears. I'd always end up changing gears at the wrong time.
Sega Master System had a lot of racers like that...
