Although I agree that it looks and sounds outstanding, and I will even one up that by saying it is one of the very few games that has a really cool and original premise story wise- too bad the pacing and style killed that potential. I just could not seem to get into it.
I think you know what I meant.

I was so hyped about this game when it came out, in part because it was made by GTA people and in part because it was the first game I'd seen that 'required' either an ID or a parent to buy.
15 minutes of fun. That's all there was to it.

KI Gold was all I needed. That game owned my life for a couple years. I went to several arcades and whipped some ass as Gargos when the cheat wasn't readily available.
I did an oral report in 8th grade on 'Violence in the Media'. It was a mandatory minimum of 15 minutes on your subject, and I started off by playing 1 round of that game. The audible responses of my classmates when I pulled off an Ultra combo with Tusk were priceless.
I later had my first epileptic siezure while video taping another classmate's presentation.

I prefer the 3DO over it by far, but there is a few games that I just have to have, so the Jag stays with me.

Paper Mario for Gamecube also. I couldn't stand the style and how goofy everything was.
Chrono Cross was great, even if it COMPLETELY failed to live up to the game before it.
And Paper Mario was great as well. Poor choices imo.

You must really suck. It's exponentially easier that hard on GH2. Try practice mode for a few months, then you'll feel better about losing to your sister.

And for how great the setting and premise was, how strong can a story be when it requires 30 minutes of expositional dialog (from the series only familiar characters) explaining it all right before the end of the game?
I have to concur with this, but it was still a great game. One of the last few I actually beat before moving into the realm of 'I have more games than I can beat, I'll just play a few hours of each.'

On a side note, I was excited about the new Turok, having played and beaten and enjoyed every one since the original (minus the humiliating last-gen appearence). It's ok, and by that I mean I didn't hate playing it, but goddamn if it isn't nearly as cool as it's N64 mother. The only thing that sets is apart is raping people/dinos with the knife, which is very fucking cool. Besides that, I miss my fusion cannon.

  5. Lemme throw in that "Klax" on the Lynx beats out anything on the N64 or Jaguar. Hands down.

OK, the idea of GH is to escape into a guitar playing world, to me GH hard is trying to much like being a real guitar to the point that I would rather pick up a real guitar and play that. I like to chillout when I play GH or Rockband and not be concentrating so hard on not screwing up that it makes it less of a game and more of a chore.

  7. so you play every game on easy, and hope that games that don't have an easy feature let you unlock one when you suck enough?

    Dude did you play Tetris?
