Hopefully it's just a typo, but according to this the series won't be out until 2009. But then again with the Wolverine spinoff coming out next year, it might just be true.

They'll time it to co-promote the movie. It'll take that long at least to get the entire season animated, presuming it started recently.

Say what you will about the animation, it was still one of the most entertaining cartoons in the 90's alongside Batman and the theme song for the american version was a thousand times better and more memorable than that japanese shit.
