Learning to play the guitar is not that difficult, and actually once you figure out how to do it, the notes just start coming to you easier and easier. This makes the satisfaction of playing a guitar way more than a game will ever allow.

Except this doesn't function like a real guitar, and that's always been my complaint with the Guitar Hero gear.

I don't care what it looks like so long as the frets to feel reasonably similar to holding down a guitar string (and they have, for the last couple of guitar models), and for the strumming input to have the same type of feel/feedback that a real guitar string provides, which is something that hasn't been done yet, outside of the abovementioned fan-mod.

That's why a product like this, which simulates nothing but the look of a guitar is such a waste.

I mean, we're at the point in Rock Band where the drums, aside from some rebound issues, pretty much function like real drums, so why is the guitar model still so far behind?

It's HUGE. But they usually don't play on TV's. Somebody saw a discarded magazine on the side of the road, and since then they've been whittling controllers out of 2x4's and playing along to 106.5 The Rooster's 5 O'Clock Classic Rock Block over at Jimmie's place.
