I understand the issue. I even agree. It's just too much of a taboo argument for most people (politicians especially) to get involved.
You're Canadian. You guys prosecute free speech up there. We aren't supposed to down here so yes it's a legit gripe.

I don't like obscenity laws either. They pretty much allow states to nullify free speech.
As they are written, someone could go to jail for sending gay porn or interracial porn to Podunk Bumblefuck AL or MS because the average person might find one or the other to be disgusting.
Yea, that's that fun community standards test. It sucks but that's the law.
I just read about that case, it's hilarious that the dissenting opinion was "Soon we won't be able to tell if child pornography is real or if it's computer generated."
We will always have fe26 or someone like him willing to intensely study the pics and their every detail in order to divine whether it is real or not.
